QNX prezentuje QNX CAR Platform 2.0

Należący do Research In Motion QNX, odpowiedzialny w dużym stopniu za przygotowanie systemu operacyjnego BlackBerry 10, oficjalnie ogłosił dziś debiut drugiego wydania platformy QNX Car, prezentowanego do tej pory chociażby podczas CES2012 czy Mobile World Congress 2012.

Wraz z premierą QNX Car Platform 2.0 udostępnione zostaną odpowiednie narzędzia, umożliwiające tworzenie aplikacji oraz rozwój platformy pod względem funkcjonalnym i multimedialnym. W najbliższym czasie zainteresowani programiści powinni otrzymać także dostępne do specjalnie przygotowanego SDK HTML5, oferującego wsparcie dla szeregu rozbudowanych API. Niestety wydanie SDK może mieć miejsce nawet dopiero w połowie tego roku, w związku z czym należy uzbroić się w cierpliwość.

Specjalnie z okazji premiery nowej platformy QNX zdecydowało się na przygotowanie nowego koncepcyjnego auta, którym tym razem został Bentley Continental GT. Samochód wyposażono m.in. w rozbudowany system multimedialny oraz gigantyczny wyświetlacz dotykowy wyświetlający obraz w jakości HD, znajdujący się w centralnej części kokpitu. Ekran jest przy tym w stanie wyświetlać jednocześnie obraz z różnych aplikacji, jak chociażby nawigacji oraz systemu informacji o stanie auta. Na pokładzie nie zabraknie przy tym zaawansowanego systemu rozpoznawania mowy, który możemy wykorzystaćdo obsługi szeregu funkcji. Jego prezentacja będzie miała podczas dzisiejszych targów CES 2013.

The QNX CAR application platform 2.0 supports an exceptionally rich set of pre-integrated technologies, both from QNX Software Systems and from dozens of ecosystem partners. This pre-integrated platform, built on an OS proven in tens of millions of vehicles, enables automotive customers to hit the ground running and significantly reduce the time required to build connected, cutting-edge infotainment systems.

To help mobile developers and automakers work in tandem, QNX Software Systems also plans to release an HTML5 SDK for the QNX CAR application platform by mid 2013. HTML5 is the only application environment that works with all of the major mobile platforms. The SDK will provide mobile developers with specialized APIs for accessing automotive devices and hardware. It will also include an emulator that lets mobile developers quickly see how their apps would look and function in an actual car.

QNX Software Systems has also released the QNX CAR development platform 2.0, which provides the tools that customers need to create, modify, debug, and test their custom versions of the QNX CAR application platform.
